Advanced Freefall (AFF) Program

AFF is a program designed to take you from your very first jump (AFF Qualification Skydive) to a safe, capable solo free-fall skydiver. Eden North has a specially tailored program consisting of Jump Eden, Jump Canada and Jump World.

After completing Jump Eden you are Solo Certified at the Club level. With the completion of Jump Canada, you can be certified at the National level through the Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA Solo Certification) and then proceed towards your “A” CoP license (with Jump the World), the international rating, recognized worldwide.

Jump Eden

The First Step... Advanced Freefall Program (AFF)

The Jump Eden Package consists of 7 levels which include 1 tandem AFF jump and 6 supervised AFF jumps. This program will teach you the skills required to become a competent solo skydiver. Once you’ve completed this program you will be Solo Certified at the club level. You can now expand your skydiving skills and leap to new levels in Skydiving at Eden!


AFF Level 1: Ground School

This includes 4.5 hours (1.5 hours pre-tandem and 3 hours post tandem) of ground training consisting of instruction in signals recognition and response, altitude and proximity awareness, proper body position and main parachute activation at the required altitude. You will also be coached in canopy flight techniques.

AFF Level 1: Tandem Skydive

Following your ground school training, under the direct supervision of your Tandem Master you will be tasked with putting your new found knowledge to work in freefall and under canopy.

AFF Level 2

Now you are flying, you are your own master. You will be responsible for: Signals recognition and response, altitude and proximity awareness, proper body position and main parachute activation at the required altitude as well as canopy analysis, control and landing.

AFF Level 3

Heading control, the ability to start and stop turns within a 45-degree range in freefall and expanding your parachute flight skills.

AFF Level 4

New exit skills and the ability to vary your rate of descent. Also develop the ability to move forward and continue to develop your parachute control skills.

AFF Level 5

Complete 90 and 360 degree turns and develop new techniques in flying your parachute.

AFF Level 6

Complete two 360 degree controlled turns, deploy your main parachute at the correct altitude and land without assistance within 50 meters of your target.

AFF Level 7

Gear selection and pre-check, all pre-boarding requirements with jump rehearsal, proper boarding procedures, pilot briefing, inflight responsibilities, proper exit procedures, freefall control, parachute activation at the required altitude and landing within 50 meters of the designated target.

All skydive candidates must be in good physical condition. A maximum of 30 days between levels is allowed. If more than 30 days has elapsed between jumps, your last completed level may have to be repeated. Special consideration is given for our winter off season. Levels not completed satisfactorily are repeated at an individual discounted price rate. Scheduled AFF Ground School Classes must be pre-booked and are generally scheduled Saturday and Sunday mornings beginning 9:00 AM. Levels 2 through 6 can be booked during any of our regular skydiving hours.

Jump Canada

Your Next Step... The Jump Canada Program

Would you like to Skydive at Drop Zones across Canada? The Jump Canada Package consists of four more jumps that are required to certify you at the National level through the CSPA Solo Certification Program.  You can attain your Canadian solo certificate, become a member of the Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA) and expand your skill set.

Jump World

Your Next Step... Jump the World Program

Once you’ve completed your CSPA Solo Certification and are on your way to your A License, also known as your A CoP (Certificate of Proficiency). Our Jump World Package will get you there. This international rating is recognized Worldwide…your ticket to a whole WORLD of fun!


Jumps 1, 2 & 3

Solo skill development.

Jumps 4 & 5

Coach 2 jumps. The first 2 of 5 required coach jumps to achieve your “A” license. Focus is on developing the skills necessary to fly with others effectively and safely.

Jumps 6 & 7

Focus on tracking and developing your formation skydiving skills. Preparing for your next coach jumps.

Jumps 8 & 9

Coach 2 jumps. Further development of your formation skydiving skills.

Jump 10

Coach jump # 5. Jump out after your coach, dock with them three separate times smoothly and safely, then track away and deploy your parachute a safe distance from your coach.

Shane Lystang

Shane Lystang

Shane started jumping in 2011 and has all the certifications! Aside from being a Tandem Master he also is a C1, C2, PFFI, SSI, SSE, and EJR. Calling himself a CRW specialist, it's safe to say those are his favorite jumps. He rode bulls professionally for 17 years, and when he's not skydiving is a practicing hypnotist!

Mike Deroo

Mike Deroo

Mikes first jump was in 2011. Since then he has accumulated over 1600 skydives has competed in 4 Way and 8 Way FS as well as Canopy Piloting and Canopy Relative Work (Crew). He's a national champion who went on to represent Canada at the 2016 World Skydiving Championships. When he's not jumping you'll either find him on the slopes or upside down on a rope working on his aerial skills.

Phil has been jumping since 1991, and has the following ratings: C1, C2, JM, GCI, PFFI, SSI, SSE, EJR, CF-C1, CF-C2, CF-JM, CF-SSI and Master Course Facilitator.

Gleb Krasni

Gleb has been jumping since 2008 and is a coach, Tandem Master, JM and AFFI. He was previously a stunt-man for movies, commercials and stunt shows! He loves sharing the experience of skydiving with other people, because he gets to see them experiencing something unique for the first time.

Jason Cameron AKA Biff

Biff has been jumping since 2000, and has over 3100 jumps in his log book. He is a Tandem Master, Jump Master, PFFI, SSI, C2 and Pilot! Biff enjoys sharing in the excitement of a tandem passengers first skydive.

Isabelle Perry

Isabelle Perry

Izzy has been skydiving for 11 years, calling Eden North home for all of them. She is an SSI, JM(R), C1, C2, GCI, SSE, PFFI and LF. Izzy’s favorite jumps are the ones she gets to do with newer skydivers, watching them improve, build their skills and teach her some new things! Second favorite jumps are the silly ones, with inflatable fish or learning to sit fly! When she’s not skydiving she’s hanging out with her dogs and cats, of which she has many, including the odd foster Beagle.

Ray Hagtvedt

Ray Hagtvedt

Ray started jumping at Eden North on opening weekend 2009, and has done 2664 jumps since then. Since 2011 he’s enjoyed doing tandems and seeing that “first-jump elation” and in 2013 he became an AFF instructor. His most memorable jump was in 2016, when he took his 79 year-old Mom for her one and only skydive.

Teri Fralick

Teri has been skydiving for 8 years. She is a C1, C2, GCI and PFFI. Teri loves helping new jumpers gain confidence in their skills and seeing them achieve their skydiving goals. She also loves 4-way competition, CRW and big-way jumps. When Teri isn’t at the drop zone, you can find her lifting weights at the gym or hiking in the mountains.

Audrey Bernier

Audrey Bernier

Audrey started jumping in 2012. She is a C1, C2, GC, JM, PFFI, and EJR. Her favorite jumps to do are CRW and wingsuiting! When she’s not in the air, you might find her training for her other love, boxing. She has the distinction of being the 2019 Boxing National champion.

Monique Andrie

Monique Andrie

Monique has been skydiving and instructing for over 20 years. What keeps her jumping out of planes is witnessing those moments when a new skydiver really gets it -- finds their balance in the air, nails an exit, flares just right. In addition to instructing, she is a CSPA Learning Facilitator, and also loves working with experienced skydivers honing their coaching skills. Other than instructing, her favorite jumps are a well-executed plan, whether a technical 4-way jump, a freefly with great proximity, or a 100-way record.
